Welcome Melissa Shessler, MS, APRN, CPNP-PC

We are pleased to welcome Melissa Shessler, MSN, APRN, CPNP-PC, to our Pediatric Primary Care provider team at New London Hospital (NLH). She is part of the Dartmouth Health family, having spent many of her more than 20 years of neonatal inpatient and pediatric primary care nursing experience in roles at Dartmouth Health Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Most recently, Melissa served as an APRN in the Amoskeag Health Pediatric Primary Care Clinic, supporting students in the Manchester School District with primary care and behavioral health services.

A native of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Melissa is fluent in French and Italian. She earned her MSN and Bachelor of Science degrees from McGill University and her post masters’ Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certificate in Primary Care from Maryville University. Melissa holds memberships in the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

“The NLH team is so welcoming and supportive. I’m excited to establish therapeutic relationships with children and their families here and see them grow,” Melissa says. “I also value collaboration with community partners to help promote the emotional, physical and mental health of each child and adolescent in my care.”

Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband, two teenage daughters and their two dogs, as well as kayaking, yoga, reading and skiing.
