NEW ENGLAND PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION HONORS NLH VOLUNTEER LEADER

At its annual meeting, the New England Association of Directors of Healthcare Volunteer Services (NEADHVS), a regional organization of Healthcare Volunteer Directors, honored Nancy Collins of New London Hospital (NLH) with its Team of Stars Award. NEADHVS reports that this award is given annually by its past and present presidents to members who have consistently gone above and beyond in their service to the organization, with efforts such as committee work, assisting at conferences and aiding with communications. Collins is on the NEADHVS Board of Directors and serves as its Treasurer. She also recently served on the Bylaws Committee.

Collins is Volunteer Services Manager at NLH, a position she has held since the beginning of her tenure there in 2007. In this vital role she is responsible for all aspects of the hospital's robust volunteer program, including recruitment, placement, training and supervising of 130 active community participants.

Says NLH President and CEO Bruce King, "We are proud of Nancy and her regional leadership, in addition to all she does for our organization and its volunteers. Our community hospital is built on a tradition of active volunteerism that continues to contribute strongly to our success. As such, we are pleased for Nancy to give of her expertise to promote leadership of healthcare volunteerism in our region, as well as for her to be inspired by and learn from her NEADHVS peers in this important field."
