BUILDING TOWARDS THE FUTURE

New London Hospital began its exciting $21 million expansion and renovation project on July 2, 2007. The first phase of the project involved expanding the parking facilities and preparing the campus for the site work. Our focus is patient and family comfort and quality care. We have carefully and thoughtfully selected a project that will most efficiently and effectively utilize our financial and human resources. The expansion will modernize patient rooms, increase space for specialty services and improve patient access to providers who practice at the hospital.

Our master facility plan comprises a 46,000 square foot addition onto the existing structure. A new main entrance will be constructed and will feature the convenience of having all diagnostic services nearby. The addition will be a two story building that would offer eight new private patient rooms with ancillary services, including a chapel. The existing patient rooms, built in 1958, will be renovated. All rooms will be private and have family sleeping accommodations.

Specialty Services (Oncology, Coumadin Clinic and Sleep Lab), which now use the same space, will be expanded. Providers from the Medical Office Building will move into new space with specialists on the ground floor and employed physicians on the second floor.

The first half of the existing Medical Office Building will be razed. Pediatrics will be brought back to the hospital campus and housed in renovated space on the first floor in the rear newer section of the MOB.

We truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we create a new hospital to meet your healthcare needs.
